Even Internet Marketing Managers need goals and for car dealerships it should be getting as many Vehicle Detail Page Views (VDP’s or clicks) on the dealership’s vehicles online as possible, where-ever they may be listed; from the dealer website, to Autotrader.com to a Google search (that would be some good SEO!).
To accomplish this marketing goal on Autotrader.com, I had to set my vehicles apart from my competitions, give the shopper a reason to click on my vehicle, stay on my vehicle and hopefully give the dealership an opportunity to sell this vehicle.
Log into the dealer portal > Advertising Products > Manage Dealership Merchandising > Why Buy This Model. Now select a Year, Make, Model and write the special, incentive or why from me verbiage.
*Note: A good point was brought up in the meeting that if dealership comments were on the vehicle/polling in with the feed, that the Why Buy This Model description will not show. To test, I have entered vehicle comments on the only 2013 Volkswagen Eos in this dealerships inventory. Check back later and I will update this post with what happened.
